Namakaranam

Naming Ceremony for Newborns

₹4800.00₹4500.00

Namakarana, the sacred naming ceremony, is one of the most cherished Hindu samskaras. It signifies the moment a newborn receives a blessed identity that will accompany them throughout life. The ceremony is performed on the 11th day after birth, ideally during the morning, when the energies are pure and auspicious.

In this ritual, the chosen name—selected based on astrological alignment, traditional syllables, pleasing sound, and meaning—is softly whispered into the baby’s right ear. Sacred mantras are chanted seeking divine protection, wellbeing, fame, and prosperity for the child.

The name is selected to resonate with positive vibrations and to support the child in their lifetime journey.

Namakarana not only provides an official identity but also acts as a spiritual sanction, seeking the blessings of the Supreme Lord and warding off negative energies associated with naming.

At Pujaparampara, all Namakarana ceremonies are conducted by experienced, Vedic-trained Purohits, who bring complete Pooja Samagri and ensure every step is performed according to Shastra and tradition.

Namakarana is the sacred samskara of naming a newborn baby. “Nama” means name and “Karanam” means to create or to bestow. This ceremony marks the child’s formal identity and is performed after the 10-day postnatal period.

Auspicious names are chosen based on astrological rules, syllables, pronunciation, and traditional guidelines, ensuring the name brings prosperity, strength, and good fortune to the child.

Our Vedic Pathshala–trained Purohits conduct the ceremony with all the required Pooja Samagri, ensuring a pure and traditional experience.
