Seemantha is a revered samskara dedicated to blessing both the pregnant woman and the child she carries. Traditionally performed during the 7th or 9th month, this ceremony invokes divine protection, mental strength, and wellbeing for the mother and baby.
The ritual begins with Ganesha Pooja, followed by Kalasha Pooja for the mother. The holy Kalasha water is believed to provide inner strength, ensuring the mother delivers a strong and healthy baby.
The date for Seemantha is carefully chosen based on the Nakshatra of both husband and wife, along with an auspicious Lagna and Shubha Muhurtha.
During the ceremony, sacred mantras are chanted, and their vibrations are believed to enhance the baby’s intellect, uplift the developing brain, and purify the mother’s mind. These blessings from the divine and elders support a smooth delivery and a joyful pregnancy journey.
