Upanayana, also known as the Sacred Thread Ceremony, is a transformative samskara that marks the beginning of a boy’s spiritual journey. The ritual symbolizes his readiness to pursue Vedic knowledge and perform religious duties. When this ceremony is performed, the child is considered spiritually reborn and becomes a “Dwija.”
The ceremony begins with Ganesha Pooja, followed by Punyaha Vachanam, Maha Sankalpam, Kalasha Pooja, and the purifying Udagashanti (sacred bath). The boy is then adorned with the Yajnopavita (Janeu), and a sacred Homa is performed as prescribed by the Shastras and Vidhana.
Traditionally, Upanayana is performed at the age of 8 years, with the Muhurtha chosen based on the child’s Janma Nakshatra.
This samskara is believed to protect the child from negative energies and prepare him to learn, absorb, and live by the teachings of the Vedas.
At Pujaparampara, every Upanayana ceremony is conducted by experienced Vedic Pathshala–trained Purohits, ensuring a pure, traditional, and spiritually uplifting experience. All Pooja Samagri is provided by our Purohits.
Upanayana is one of the most important samskaras in Hindu tradition, especially for Brahmins, and is also practiced by Kshatriyas and Vaishyas. The ceremony signifies the boy’s second birth, making him a Dwija, and granting him the sacred right to study the Vedas and perform rituals.
The sacred thread (Yajnopavita) consists of three strands, representing the three divine debts—to the Guru, to the parents & ancestors, and to God.
Our Vedic Pathshala–trained Purohits perform the ceremony with complete Pooja Samagri and follow every ritual according to Shastra and tradition.
Economy-1 Day : (2 Priests + Pooja Samagries )
In this Package 2 Priests will come and perform the Upanayana Ceremony.

Yajamani have to keep house items like Vessels, Deepa, Mats, Bowls, Photos, Milk, Curd, Prasada, Plate, Bhiksha patra, dhotis for the boy, food items etc you will be receiving detailed to do list after booking.
Standard 1 Day: ( 4 Priests + Pooja Samagries )
In Standard package 4 Priests will perform the Upanayanam ceremony and it will be 1 day program of 3 to 4 hours.
